Arlott once called cricket &#8216;<em>The Game the Wealden rustics handed down<\/em>&#8216;<sup data-fn=\"925b522a-9ef0-4e13-99e8-faba5298c69c\" class=\"fn\"><a href=\"#925b522a-9ef0-4e13-99e8-faba5298c69c\" id=\"925b522a-9ef0-4e13-99e8-faba5298c69c-link\">1<\/a><\/sup>. His finely judged romanticism is never far away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-footnotes\"><li id=\"925b522a-9ef0-4e13-99e8-faba5298c69c\">From his poem about Jack Hobbs entitled &#8220;To\u00a0<em>John<\/em>\u00a0Berry\u00a0<em>Hobbs<\/em>\u00a0on his Seventieth Birthday&#8221; (1952).
